TROY, Ohio —

The parents of 3-month-old Naithin Allin-Mykel Johnson were arraigned separately in a Miami County Common Pleas Courtroom minutes apart late Monday afternoon in Troy.

The mother, Danele Johnson, 26, of Covington, entered a plea of not guilty to a first-degree felony of involuntary manslaughter in the Aug. 23 death of Naithin. The father, Matthew Johnson, 26, of Covington, entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of child endangering.

Both were recently indicted by the Miami County grand jury.

The mother's bond was continued at a $500,000 in cash, while the father's bond was continued at $100,000 in cash.

Covington police have only said the baby died from "traumatic brain injury," stated Covington Police Chief Lee Harmon.
