Cox Arboretum -- February 2007 Program Highlights

DAYTON, Ohio —

Thursday, February 9 Parent and Preschooler: It’s WILD in the City 10 - 11:30 a.m. Discover more about the many animals that share our city home during this station-based program for 3-6 yr olds. Registrants can arrive between 10 and 10:30 a.m.

Saturday, February 17 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. AND Sunday, February 18 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Orchid Show Hundreds of orchids will be on display, as well as orchids and other items for purchase. Informal orchid talks and repotting classes will be held throughout the weekend. This event is sponsored by the Miami Valley Orchid Society.

Saturday, February 17 Eureka Lab! Science Celebrates Diversity Noon – 3 p.m. Kettering Learning Lab George Washington Carver, Madame Curie, E.O.Wilson…just a few examples of the scientists whose lives and work we’ll explore during this drop-in program for 1st grade and up. No reservations required.

Sunday, February 25 Tea and Tastings 2 p.m. (2 hrs) Take the chill out of the winter and join us as we taste and discuss herbs for culinary use. Learn about tea blending, the differences between white, green, black & herbal teas, and how to read your tea leaves. Enjoy some sweet & savory treats that can accompany a good cup of tea. Fee: $5/Foundation member; $10/non-member; required with reservation. Make checks payable to Five Rivers MetroParks.
