Wednesday, January 17 Lemony Pajama Tea: Celebrate the 2007 Herb of the Year 10 a.m. (2 hrs) Come cozy up to the fire with a cup of tea in your pajamas and slippers with the Herb Study Group as we celebrate 2007’s Herb of the Year – Lemon Balm. We’ll sample different teas and some sweet and savory goodies featuring different lemon herbs. As the dust settles from the holiday chaos, please join us in expanding your knowledge of lemon herbs with this relaxing morning tea. Pajamas and slippers encouraged! Fee: $5/Foundation member; $10/non-member; required with reservation. Make checks payable to Five Rivers MetroParks.

Tuesdays, January 23 thru March 13 Landscaping 101 for the Homeowner 6 p.m. (3 hrs) This eight-week introductory landscaping class is taught by Jim Teske, landscape architect and owner of Centerville Landscaping. Learn how to design residential landscaping that will stand the test of time. Site evaluation and layout strategy, hardscape design, wall and deck building, irrigation needs, as well as, special needs, proper planting techniques and best plants for Ohio will be covered. Each class will include an instructional lecture and lab time to work on a hands-on component. Fee: $75/Foundation member; $85/non-member; required with registration. Sunday, January 28 African Violets Are Easier Than You Think 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Do you think you can't grow these lovely flowers? Have fun getting your hands dirty while our African Violet volunteers lead you through a variety of stations to show you proper care, propagation & maintaining your African Violet. You will also be introduced to some of the more unique cousins of this popular indoor plant.

Wednesday, January 31 Lunch & Learn: Perennial All-Stars 11:30 a.m. (1 1/2 hrs) Bring your lunch and learn why perennials are a wonderful foundation for any garden. Discover some of the "must have" plants, plant of the year selections, and combinations to create pizazz. Reservations required & limited.

YOUTH & FAMILY PROGRAMS Tuesday, January 23 Stroller Studies: Fluffy Fun (ages infant - 3) 10 a.m. (1 hr) Watch little hands make art with foam paints during the first Stroller Studies program of the new year. Reservations required & limited: Call 434-9005.

Saturday, January 20 Winter Family Nature Walk 10 a.m. (1 1/2 hrs) Enjoy the crisp winter morning looking for feathered friends! Also search for animals' tracks and winter homes. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet at parking lot.
