DAYTON —

Fire officials are calling a Friday morning fire at a vacant house on Hoover Avenue suspicious.

The fire was reported around 9:20 a.m. today at 3121 Hoover Ave. Fire crews reported heavy fire showing from the structure upon arrival.

Because the house has been vacant and without power for about two years, the cause of the fire is considered suspicious, according to officials.

A neighboring house sustained about $2,000 in damage, mostly to the siding. The family that lives there were able to escape without injury. They will not be displaced, according to officials.

The vacant house was completely destroyed in the fire.
