One person was injured and taken to a hospital Thursday night following a three-vehicle accident that left one of the vehicles in the middle of an intersection.

The driver of a black Oldsmobile sedan is believed to have run a red light on East Third Street at South Smithville Road at about 7:05 p.m. and hit another vehicle, Dayton police said.

That collision sent the Olds spinning and into a third vehicle at the intersection, which is also near Airway Road, police said.

The other vehicles involved were a white pickup truck and a Ford Taurus.

According to police, the driver of the Olds will be cited for a traffic violation. The extent of that person’s injuries was not immediately known.
