DAYTON —

One person was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital on Wednesday night following a three-vehicle accident that was believed to have involved a stolen sedan.

Police were called to Catalpa Drive and West Hillcrest Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. on a report of a multivehicle accident.

According to police at the scene, two males in a Chrysler 300 sedan abandoned it after crashing it into a tree in front of the A&K Mini Mart, 618 W. Hillcrest Ave.

Before leaving it behind, police said, the Chrysler was headed east on Hillcest when it ran a red light and hit a Honda Civic headed north on Catalpa.

The Chrysler spun out and hit a Ford pickup at the traffic light at Catalpa and West Hillcrest, then continued off the roadway and into the tree.

The driver of the pickup was not injured. That person drove the vehicle home, police said.

A woman who said she left her car running when she went into the Valerie Arms apartments, several blocks northwest of the accident scene, to see someone, said her car was gone when she left the building. She identified the Chrysler as her car.

Police have not commented about the woman or her story.
