2 arrested for filing false reports

By Lou Grieco

Kettering police arrested two people Nov. 30 after they reported they had been victims of an armed robbery — that police later determined never occurred.

Officers were dispatched to 3920 Parliament Place at 10:49 p.m. on the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they found four people who claimed they had been robbed at gunpoint, according to Kettering police.

Those people told police that the robber lived in the same apartment complex and committed the robbery after they gave him a ride to a location on Bigger Road, police said.

Officers located the suspect at an apartment at 3935 Parliament Place. K-Vonne T. Jenkins, 18, of Xenia was arrested for theft, after the investigation revealed a robbery did not occur, police said.

Lindsey T. Peck, 18, of Troy, and Josey M. Trupp, 20, of Tipp city, were arrested for obstructing official business. All were transported to the Kettering jail, police said.

Peck and Trupp have been charged with obstructing official business and contributing to the unruliness of a minor, both misdemeanors, according to Kettering Municipal Court. Jenkins is charged with theft and contributing to the unruliness of a minor, both misdemeanors, also according to Kettering Municipal Court.
