4-year sentence for driver in 2011 fatal crash

By Breaking News Staff

WASHINGTON TWP. —

A Xenia man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in the death of an 83-year-old woman in a head-on crash in 2011.

Timothy Hill, 26, was convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault and other charges in connection with the June 3, 2011 crash on Clyo Road.

According to Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr., Hill crossed the centerline and struck a vehicle carrying Helen Dodson head-on.

She was killed and the 84-year-old driver was critically injured.

Investigators discovered the defendant was under the influence of a prescription sleeping aid, for which he had no valid prescription, at the time of the crash, Heck said in a release Thursday. Additionally, he tested positive for marijuana component THC in his bloodstream.

In addition to the four year prison sentence, Hill’s driver’s license is suspended for life.
