MIAMISBURG —
The Wright-Patterson Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit on Friday afternoon detonated an object the Dayton Bomb Squad removed from a home in Miamisburg earlier today.
Detectives have not identified the object.
Officers were initially called to 1206 Terrington Way early Friday morning on reports of a domestic altercation. At 7 a.m., 38-year-old Aaron Taylor was arrested there. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail. He is charged with kidnapping and rape. His bond is set at $1 million.
According to Montgomery County property records, Taylor is listed as the homeowner.
Once inside the home, police saw a suspicious object and called the Dayton Bomb Squad. The Wright-Patterson ordnance unit joined the investigation.
The road around the house was blocked to traffic during the investigation. Neighbors were asked to stay in their homes as detectives worked.
As of 3 p.m., officials were still searching the home. Police said they will decide what charges may be filed in the case upon completion of an investigation.
