HARRISON TOWNSHIP —

Deputies recovered a hijacked car early Tuesday morning at the Valero on Philadelphia Drive and Siebenthaler Avenue. They also took a suspect into custody.

The sheriff’s department said the car, a dark blue Buick, was stolen during an aggravated robbery in the city of Dayton on Jan. 4.

A deputy on patrol spotted the car early Tuesday, and later spotted it parked in front of the 2800 block of Philadelphia Drive. The deputy saw a man get out of the car, and start to walk away. He ordered the suspect to lie on the ground, and put his arms out to his side. Investigators said the suspect complied, and did not resist.

Investigators also recovered a crack pipe and some unknown prescriptions in the car.

Dave Kemps, 45, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail pending charges of receiving stolen property, forgery and advertising and possession of drugs.
