Englewood school bomb threat prompts search

By Breaking News Staff

ENGLEWOOD —

An elementary school here was temporarily locked down Thursday after a teacher received a message that a bomb was in the building.

As police searched Englewood Elementary, 702 Albert St., children were moved to a shelter area in the building at approximately 1 p.m., according to Superintendent Sarah Zatik.

Zatik said a teacher had received a voice message from what sounded like a young student who said there was a bomb in the building.

Police didn’t find anything and the school returned to normal operations by 1:35 p.m., Zatik said.

Parents received notification about the incident, which remains under investigation.
