Gunshot victim’s injuries not life-threatening

DAYTON —

A man is expected to survive after he walked into Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday night bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Doctors told officers a bullet was lodged against his ribs, according to a Dayton police report.

Dayton police learned shortly after 11 p.m. that the 25-year-old man was shot in the arm, according to a Dayton police supervisor. The police report states the man said he was jumped by three men with vague descriptions as he was leaving his girlfriend’s residence on the 700 block of West Fairview Avenue.

One of the men asked him for a light, according to information in the police report. Two others reportedly approached the victim from behind. The man was soon shot, and the three suspects rooted through his pockets before fleeing.

At about the same time of the shooting, police were reportedly investigating a shots-fired call on Shoop Avenue.
