DAYTON —

A man charged with felonious assault in the June beating of a 58-year-old could be charged with murder following a coroner’s ruling that the victim’s death in November is a homicide.

Stanford Lenoir died Nov. 23. He suffered a head injury during an assault June 24 near Good Samaritan Hospital on West Fairview Avenue. Louis Hall, 23, was indicted on a charge of felonious assault in November in connection to that assault and pleaded not guilty in December. He has been in the Montgomery County Jail since his arrested Oct. 22.

We’ve confirmed that detectives will meet with prosecutors later this week to present evidence for a murder charge against Hall.

The classification of Lenoir’s death as a homicide brings the city of Dayton’s homicide total to 29 in 2012.
