Firefighter charged with child endangering

CELINA, Ohio —

Authorities said a Mercer County man is facing child endangering charges after he allegedly used a grill lighter on children and inappropriate touching.

Michael Jason Buschur, 39, of Celina, was arrested and charged with four counts of child endangering, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. Buschur was arrested Monday evening and booked into jail, where he posted bond. He is expected to appear in court Friday.

The children range from 7 to 13 years old, and their parents have been notified, according to authorities.

Buschur is a member of the Montezuma Fire Department and a former part-time police officer with the Village of St. Henry, where he resigned earlier this year.
