KETTERING —
A Centerville man is charged with abduction after a report he confined his girlfriend in a closet.
Kettering police arrested John E. Maberry, 56, after responding to a disturbance Dec. 13 in the 5900 block of Bigger Road. Reports indicate a woman was running on Bigger Road and screaming for help.
Officers were told the female was running from Maberry, her boyfriend, following an argument with him at Cardinal Fitness, 5513 Bigger Road.
Maberry allegedly forced her into a closet and threatened to kill her. She was confined for about 15 minutes before he opened the door and she escaped.
Maberry is out of jail after posting a $25,000 bond, according to Kettering police.
