Carjacking reported near Danner Ave. market

DAYTON —

A 47-year-old man was beaten and robbed of his car on Monday night.

The victim said he noticed four men standing on the corner near the Danner Market, 1233 Danner Ave., at about 7 p.m., according to a Dayton police incident report.

He told officers that as he got into his car he was assaulted, caught off guard by a blow to the face with a handgun.

The suspect threatened him, told him to hand over the keys, and to get out of the car. The suspect drove off in the victim’s 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The victim made it back into the store and requested that someone call 911, but then left. A few hours later, police were dispatched to a location on Wisconsin Boulevard to pick up the victim and take him to a hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
