North Main businesses hit by armed robberies

HARRISON TWP. —

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies are investigating two armed robberies Wednesday night that occurred within minutes at businesses in the 4000 block of North Main Street.

CVS Pharmacy and Subway were hit by an armed robber at about 9:50 p.m., but it is unclear whether the incidents involve the same suspect, the sheriff’s office tells News Center 7.

A witness reported that the robber entered the Subway, but the employees ran away and the man fled without getting any money. The store manager at CVS, contacted by News Center 7, declined comment about what happened.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch indicates that the CVS robber is black, in his mid 20s and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was dressed in dark clothing and displayed a handgun.
