DAYTON —
A man arrested for allegedly breaking into a Dayton business and stealing a TV, left a trail of blood at the scene of the crime after cutting himself during the burglary attempt.
According to a Dayton Police report, a Good Samaritan Police officer was alerted to a possible break-in at the Top of the Line barber shop on Salem Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Upon investigation, the officer saw 42-year-old Dereck McDonley coming out of the shop carrying a flat screen TV and detained him.
A Dayton Police officer inspecting the shop found blood smeared all over the area where the TV had been sitting.
McDonley was taken to Good Samaritan for treatment of a cut to his hand and then booked into the Montgomery County Jail pending a felony charge of breaking and entering.
