Police: Man dropped drugs reaching for ID

DAYTON —

A 25-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs at Webster Street Station bar Tuesday evening.

According to a Dayton Police incident report, the man reached into his pocket to get his driver’s license when asked for ID at the door and pulled out a baggie containing suspected crack cocaine.

A security officer saw the baggie fall to the floor and called police.

Responding officers determined the substance to be .30 grams of crack cocaine, according to the report.

When asked about the drugs by police, the man said the pants he was wearing weren’t his. In the pants pockets were his ID, cell phone, house key, cash and a lighter which he said were all his possessions, according to the report.

That man was booked into the Montgomery County Jail Tuesday night, but was not listed as an inmate on Wednesday. No charges have been filed.
