SPRINGFIELD TWP. —

Authorities believe three teenagers taken into custody Wednesday are responsible for a series of daytime burglaries.

Jakeb Bowermeister, 18, and two 17-year-old males were arrested after they confessed to committing between one and three burglaries in the 600 block of Lawnview Avenue and 200 block of Beech Drive in Springfield Twp. and Greenridge Drive in German Twp., according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

At this point, the names of the two juveniles who were arrested are not being published by the Springfield News Sun.

The teens were taken into custody at Cash Land on East Main Street where they were attempting to sell the items believed to have been stolen. Deputies found more items in a vehicle that was seized and in a nearby hotel room.

Among the items recovered are jewelry, coins, DVDs and a loaded handgun taken from a German Twp. home. Township police will be filing charges against the three at a later date stemming from the burglary on Greenridge Drive, according to Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Elliott.

The teens would knock on doors of homes where the driveways were empty, then break in through a back door if no one answered, said Elliott.

Though the suspects are being detained on suspicion of the three burglaries, they could be responsible for others as there have been 10 similar burglaries in the last few days, Elliott said.

Springfield police investigators are expected to question the teens about burglaries in that city as well.
