TROTWOOD —
Police are working with officials at Trotwood-Madison High School to find out who was handing out brownies at the school laced with suspected marijuana.
Two students are believed to have ingested the food on Monday, Trotwood Capt. John Porter said Tuesday afternoon.
The families of the students were notified and the families took the students to a hospital to be checked out, Porter said.
Police did recover a plastic bag that contained individually wrapped brownies, Porter said, and that evidence is at the Miami Valley Crime Laboratory for analysis.
Porter said that according to the police report, police were called to the school, 4440 North Union Road, at about noon after the principal called to report that brownies believed to be laced with the narcotic were being distributed in the school.
The report lists several potential suspects, Porter said, but he declined to say whether the suspects are students at the school, where enrollment for grades seven through 12 is listed on its website as 1,325.
“We do have information that we’re following up on,” the captain said. “We’re working with the school to develop suspects.”
News Center 7 made an attempt, without success, to get a comment from the school.
