A woman who made news last year when she was accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the back was in court again today.

This time, Buffy Jo Sample is accused of assaulting that same boyfriend because he wouldn’t give her any Jolly Ranchers candy.

According to a Springfield Police report Sample, 41, grabbed her boyfriend of five years around the neck and jaw, leaving marks on his face.

Ronald Massie, 50, told police that she prevented him from calling police at their Northern Avenue address so he went to a relative’s house and called.

While police were interviewing him, Sample called and threatened to tell police that he beat her up, according to the report.

Police apprehended her Sample and she was booked into the Clark County Jail pending charges of domestic violence, assault, and disruption of public services.

Sample was found not guilty of similar charges last year.

In April she was charged with felonious assault and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence after she alleged stabbed Massie in the back with a butcher knife. He was found on his porch bleeding from a half-inch stab wound by neighbors.
