DAYTON —

A woman and an infant were transported to a local hospital after a hit and run crash on Salem Avenue at West Riverview Avenue.

Just before 11:00 a.m., Dayton emergency crews were dispatched on a report of someone hit by a car and the suspect vehicle left the scene. Upon arrival, crews found a woman and an infant in a small sedan which had been hit in the rear. The woman told police a red pick-up truck slammed into the back of her car and then drove away.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries from the crash. The infant was unhurt but also transported to be checked out.

Police are searching for the red pick-up.
