Woman, kids safe after shots fired into their home

DAYTON —

A women and two young children were unhurt after shots were fired into their apartment Saturday evening.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of gun shots at the Eagle Ridge apartment complex. Upon arrival, officers search around the complex and located a women outside at 5001 Northcrest Drive.

The woman told the officers she was leaving to stay with a friend because she was scared. She said someone shot into her home.

Upon inspection, officers located a bullet hole in an exterior wall and found a bullet on the floor inside the apartment. A second bullet hole was also discovered, but the bullet did not penetrate the wall.

The woman said she had two young children in the home at the time of shooting, according to a police report.
