A 24-year-old woman was treated at Miami Valley Hospital Sunday evening after suffering a gunshot wound while she was a passenger in a car.

The shooting occurred on McCabe Avenue at about 9:50 p.m., according to a Dayton Police report.

The victim was the passenger in a car picking up a friend at an apartment building.

That woman said she and her boyfriend had gotten into a fight before she was picked up.

As the three woman drove away, they saw the boyfriend standing on the side of the street and said he fired several shots at the car.

Only the passenger was struck and the driver immediately drove to the hospital. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police were searching for the boyfriend Sunday night, according to the report.
