Cruiser Video Of Chase Released

TROTWOOD, Ohio —

Authorities in Trotwood have released cruiser cam video of a chase that ended with two cruisers involved in a collision.

The chase began in Trotwood last Friday and ended in Preble County.

Two patrol cars collided. One belonged to a Trotwood officer and the other to a Preble County Sheriff's deputy.

Those officers are home recovering from their injuries and investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol are looking into how the collision happened.

The video shows a wild chase on U.S. 35 in western Montgomery County after Trotwood officers spotted a car involved in a robbery in the parking lot of the Target store.

Bob Jones of Trotwood said it was amazing that no one was killed. "He don't know what he's doing but trying to get away, " said Jones.

The chase continued into Preble County where the two cruisers collided. Investigators are looking into whether there may have been a communication problem or if the deputy did not know that the Trotwood Officer was so close.

The suspects were arrested and both the officer and the deputy are expected to recover.
