CSU Students Lobby State Lawmakers On Funding

COLUMBUS, Ohio —

Students at Central State University are hoping to keep their school out of financial trouble. So, they are lobbying state lawmakers in Columbus.

A few dozen students are working the hallways of the statehouse talking with lawmakers about the need to restore full funding to CSU.

Officials said one version of the new state budget cuts CSU funding by more than $9 million. The plan would force the school to increase its tuition.

The student lobbying effort comes just as state senators are about to pass their version of the budget.

The final budget must be adopted by the end of June.
