PIQUA, Ohio —

Piqua fire officials say that the damage was "very minor, maybe $300 to $400," said Asst. Fire Chief Mike Peltier, in reference to a kitchen fire Thursday afternoon.

The scene was 500 Kitt Street. A pan of grease was left unattended on the kitchen stove.

An occupant of the home, age 25, suffered a second degree burn to his hand while removing the hot pan of grease from the house to the outdoors. He was taken to Upper Valley Medical Center near Troy by rescue squad for treatment.
