DAYTON, Ohio —
Dayton firefighters battled several house fires Saturday morning.
A garage caught fire on South McGee around 2:30 am. When crews got on scene, the garage had already collapsed.
When a neighbor rushed out to check out the fire, he had quite an accident.
Dayton District Fire Chief Tim Rose said, "As he's walking back to the house, he slipped pulled the trigger of his gun, and shot himself in the leg."
The man was treated at a local hospital. Police are also investigating why the man had a gun.
Investigators believe the fire was suspicious. They are trying to pinpoint a cause.
Later, around 4 a.m, another garage caught fire near Wayne and Wyoming. That fire quickly spread to two nearby homes and another garage. Several buildings were destroyed or damaged.
Multiple crews from Dayton and surrounding departments spent more than an hour fighting that blaze. At one point more than 50 firefighters were on scene.
Investigators said no one was hurt and crews are investigating it as a supicious fire.
