Dayton Humane Society Burglarized

DAYTON, Ohio —

Dayton Police are investigating after someone ransacked and burglarized the business offices of the Dayton Humane Society.

Director of Operations Jean Backer said someone threw a brick through a window and stole four computers, a digital camera and cash from a donation jar. The break-in was discovered Wednesday morning.

"For people to come in and steal the stuff and make a mess and destroy this is very upsetting because what we're here for is to take care of pets," Backer said.

She said there was no personal customer information on any of the stolen computers, and no animals were hurt during the burglary.

The Dayton Humane Society is funded solely by donations.

If you have any information on this crime, you are asked to contact Dayton Police.
