Dayton Man Recovers After Pit Bull Attack

DAYTON, Ohio —

Police in Dayton said a man is recovering after he was attacked by a pit bull. The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Xenia Avenue.

Neighbors said the man was out for a walk when two pit bulls came running out of their cages and chased him. Some children who live nearby witnessed the attack.

Neighbors told police that the dogs are usually locked in their cages. Authorities said only one of the canines bit the man in the leg.

Animal control is investigating the attack.
