DAYTON, Ohio —
A man driving his car in Dayton said he was shot in the face waiting at a red light. Dayton officers said they have arrested two juveniles on assault charges.
This was one of several cases recently where officers have arrested teenagers who were found with real-looking fake or toy guns.
The man who was shot said he was driving on West Riverview on Thursday afternoon when he was struck. William Reese said a man in the car with him said somebody was shooting BB’s.
Reese, 68, was hit in the chin. He said he touched his jaw and saw the blood.
Reese said he and his passenger saw two teenage boys running and then called 911. Dayton police said the shots came from a high-powered BB rifle.
Officers said the gun is designed to look like a Remington .22 rifle.
According to Montgomery County Juvenile Court, one of the teens was arrested and then released. The second teen was charged with assault.
