DAYTON, Ohio —

A Dayton judge is expected to move forward Wednesday and charge 15-year-old Benedict Njodinizeh with murder.

The teen is suspected of killing his 52-year-old mother, Muriel Njodinizeh, on Tuesday. Authorities said the woman died of multiple stab wounds.

Investigators said the teen later went a local church and confessed to the crime.

The boy’s father lives in Chicago, and said he was aware that his son was having problems.

The teen is being held in police custody. A three-prosecutor panel will decide if the teen can be tried as an adult.
