HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

Deputies said a car crashed into several trees and a fence, but the driver did not stick around.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Old Riverside Drive in Harrison Township.

Deputies said the driver of the car lost control going down a hill, hit some trees, careened across the road and into a fence before landing in a driveway.

Investigators said the driver fled the scene. Deputies said they found a passenger lying next to the car. They believe he climbed out of the wreckage on his own.

The passenger was taken to a local hospital. At this time, there is no word on his condition.
