Student arrested at Friday night football game

CLARK COUNTY —

A 14-year-old Springfield boy is facing charges after being taken into custody Friday night at the Kenton Ridge High School football game. The high school is located at 4444 Middle Urbana Rd.

Deputies working security at the game said they were approached by a student who said the teen had a knife. The student added that the teen said he would like to blow up a school.

Deputies approached the teen, who admitted having the knife. They found the knife in the teen’s front jean pocket. The teen, however, denied making comments about blowing up a school.

Authorities said the boy faces a charge of conveyance of a deadly weapon /dangerous ordnance into a school safety zone.
