The sheriff’s office is investigating the suspicious death of a 60-year-old man found inside a home in the village of Fryburg, which is located south of Wapakoneta, deputies said.

Officers responded to the home around 8:30 a.m. Friday on a report of a man that was deceased inside the residence, according to deputies. Authorities discovered evidence at the scene that required detectives from the sheriff’s office to investigate further, deputies said.

Two agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were also called, along with the Auglaize County Coroner’s Office, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The circumstances around the death of this person are being looked into further due to the victim being middle aged and a few things at the scene that are unusual,” Sheriff Al Solomon said. “It may turn out to be nothing. We are just covering all of the bases.”

The man was found inside a residence in the 11000 block of Walnut and any further information on the investigation is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
