WILMINGTON —

A dive team has been continuing to search a retention pond for the body of a woman missing since early Sunday morning. Sonar and a robotic vehicle is being used to assist with the search.

The boots of 32-year-old Casey Pitzer were found in the pond on Sunday, when friends and family reported the mother of two missing.

The pond near Walmart in Wilmington is close to where she was last seen. Witnesses said Pitzer, of Sabina, had been at Louie’s Lounge when she left and got into a vehicle with people unknown to her. While traveling on Ohio 73, she exited the vehicle and ran across all lanes of the road.

The team was back in the water Friday to continue the search, said Duane Wayne, Police Chief for the city of Wilmington.

Wayne said the pond is 375 feet wide by 1000 feet long and 24 feet deep with drop-offs.

“We hope to have it drained by Monday,” Wayne said.
