Drier weather on tap for the new week

SOUTHWEST OHIO —

A drier weather pattern is in store for the new work week.

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said that means water levels will go back to normal.

She said there was one to two inches of rain northwest of Dayton, and half an inch to an inch of rain southeast. She added that minor flooding of creeks, streams and small rivers is still possible due to snow melt and heavy rainfall.

For overnight into Monday, Vrydaghs is calling for gradual clearing with temperatures dropping into the lower 20s. She added that it will be a bit breezy, creating wind chills in the teens.

“Winds, she said, “will help dry out some of the roadways, but anything left wet or untreated will refreeze due to the dropping temperatures.”

Monday, Vrydaghs said there could be some icy spots early on roadways. She added that skies will be clear with more clouds arriving through the day. She said it will stay dry, and will be a bit more seasonable with temperatures in the lower 30s.

Monday night, she said, will be clearing with lows in the 20s.

Through the week, Vrydaghs called for waves of clouds and sun, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s.
