DAYTON, Ohio —
The workers said they are not exactly sure when they will be back because they are on strike.
The workers are machinists, welders and assembly workers who are employed by Chemineer Inc., a Poe Ave. company that manufactures mixing equipment for different industries.
Workers are making it clear that they are on strike, using signs in the ground and on their bodies.
Chermineer employee Gary Heinlein said, "We felt they were taking too much that we fought to get."
Members of the International Association of Machinists and aerospace workers, Local 225, said they have fought for certain work rules and seniority benefits and they want to see Chemineer meet them in the middle.
Harry Grooms, Union Committee Chairman said, "We gave the company the chance, an opportunity to sit back down and negotiate, and they chose not to do that."
A company spokesperson told us that Chemineer hopes to resolve the issue and return to normal operations as soon as possible.
Until then, workers like Gary Heinlein will be standing on the outside rather than working inside.
The two sides had been in negotiations for about three weeks. There's no word yet on when the two sides will be back at the bargaining table.
