Energy audits available to residents at discount

Staff Report

HUBER HEIGHTS —

Eligible Huber Heights residents will be able to receive discounted energy audits through the Energy Smart Program.

The Housing Source is introducing the program in partnership with Montgomery County and the City of Huber Heights. Under the program, eligible residents in a designated area may receive a whole house energy audit.

The audit allows homeowners to receive considerable savings on utility bills by identifying poorly insulated walls and leaky doors and windows, according to a release. The audit normally costs about $400 to $450, and will be $50 through the program.

After the areas are diagnosed, experts will suggest the most cost effective remedies to increase the home’s energy efficiency, according to the release.
