Equipment failure blamed for DP&L power outage

CENTERVILLE —

Dayton Power and Light is blaming equipment failure at a substation for a Saturday morning power outage.

A spokeswoman said that equipment failed at the Pleasant Hill Drive substation. That caused an outage for 1,972 customers in the Centerville area at 9:50 a.m. Saturday.

She said repair crews were in the area, and had power restored as of 11:36 a.m. Saturday.
