Ex-boyfriend awaits Judge's verdict in Piqua murder case

Travis Lee Gauldin awaits verdict in county jail

PIQUA, Ohio —

In a Miami County Common Pleas Court Judge Christopher Gee heard a full day of  testimony Wednesday in the murder case against 22-year-old Travis Lee Gauldin in the April 2012 death of Malisa DeLeSancha, 4, of Piqua.

Judge Gee then heard closing arguments Thursday morning then began his deliberations in the case.

The Miami County Public Defender Stephen King, who represents Gaudlin, waved his client's right to a jury trial. Instead the decision will be rendered by Judge Gee.

If convicted as charged Gauldin could get a maximum of 15 years to life in prison.
