Father Pleads Not Guilty To Felonious Child Endangering Charges

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio —

The Springfield man who authorities say was caught on tape beating his infant stepson, appears in court after a neighbor told Clark County detectives that he had witnessed Mark Foster, 29, continually abusing the child and set up a video camera.

Mark foster is now charged with felony child endangering.

Suspected Child Abuse Case In Clark County Tuesday morning in Clark County Municipal Court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Investigators say the videotape clearly shows foster repeatedly striking his 11 month-old stepson.

The video was taken by a neighbor who was concerned for the little boy's welfare.

Foster was originally charged with misdemeanor child endangering, but when county prosecutors reviewed the tape, they brought a felony charge against him.

On Monday afternoon, Foster was arrested at his Willow Chase Circle home.

The sheriff's office says the tape speaks for itself, but Foster's wife says she believes the tape was altered.

The baby is now in the custody of Clark County Children's Services.

The baby was examined by a doctor who did find bruising on his head, but there were not other injuries.

Foster is being held on a $10,000 bond.
