SPRINGFIELD —

A man robbed the Speedway on East Main Street early Wednesday morning after entering the store and forcing the female clerk to the register at gunpoint, according to reports.

Police said the suspect matches the description of the man they said may have robbed two drive thrus in Springfield over the weekend.

After forcing the clerk to the register the clerk gave the robber an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

The suspect fled the store heading north and may have got away in a vehicle waiting near the station, police said.

Inital reports indicated the suspect was a white male, wearing a green jacket, work boots, black mask and blue jeans. He was reportedly between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10.

The robbery remains under investigation.
