House fire ruled undetermined

MIDDLETOWN —

The cause of the two fires Sunday at 104 Moore Street will be undetermined as the roof has collapsed and the second floor is nearly collapsed, according to fire officials.

Middletown fire crews were called to the house twice on Sunday, once at 3:16 p.m. and a second time more than four hours later at 7:35 p.m.

Fire Marshal Bob Hess said since he cannot get inside the home to investigate, the official cause will be marked as undetermined.

Middletown was assisted by Franklin and Monroe fire departments on the first fire, and Monroe assisted on the second fire.

Hess said the fire did not rekindle as previously reported.

Hess said its expected the house will come down due to the condition of the roof and the second floor.

No one was reported to have been injured in either fire, dispatchers said.

The home is valued at $64,760, according to the Butler County Auditor’s Office.
