NEW JASPER TWP., Greene County —
Smoke spread across the fields near Paintersville Port William Road on Tuesday when a fire destroyed a garage and all its contents.
Fire crews responding at approximately 1:45 p.m. found much of the structure at 3720 Paintersville already destroyed by flames.
The homeowner reported that he walked out of his home and discovered the building was on fire, according to Assistant Chief Greg Gould, New Jasper Twp. Fire Department.
No one was injured, but lawn equipment and golf carts were among the items destroyed, Gould said.
The cause remains under investigation. Gould said there were propane tanks in the garage and one of them may have been leaking, but that’s undetermined.
