Firefighters Quickly Douse Apartment Fire In Union City, Ohio

UNION CITY, Ohio —

Smoke was coming from the upstairs of a four-unit apartment building Monday afternoon at 413 1/2 E. North St. in Union City when firefighters arrived on the scene.

The blaze was contained to a laundry room, but what caused the fire is still the center of an investigation.

There were no injuries, according to Unioin City Fire Chief Dean Hiatt. He estimated the damages at between $10,000 to $15,000.

Two of the four families living in the apartment were displaced by the fire due to smoke and water damage.

Union City received mutual aid from Greenville and Ansonia fire departments.
