MIAMI COUNTY, Ohio —

As a judge in Mami County considered the release of former sheriff's Deputy Josh Adkins on "shock parole," Adkins apologized to the court and to the communuity.

Six weeks ago, Common Pleas Judge Robert Lindeman sentenced the Tipp City resident to six months in prison on multiple counts of obtaining prescription pain medications by deception.

Monday, Lindeman released Adkins and placed him on two years probation -- which came with a long list of court-ordered terms.

If Adkins violates any of the terms, he will be sent back to prison.
