Fundraiser To Be Held For Kettering 5-Year-Old

KETTERING, Ohio —

A 5-year-old boy from Kettering is suffering from a very rare form of lung cancer, and his family needs help.

Kaleb Montgomery loves to play video games and play ball with his father and friends.

Kaleb was diagnosed with plueropulmonary blastoma. Health experts sy less than 200 children in the world suffer from the disease.

Kaleb’s mother, Rhonda, said, “It’s been devastating to us. He is such a sweet boy.”

Kaleb has already had three surgeries and chemotherapy, but more tough times are ahead. On Tuesday, Kaleb is going to Columbus to have a tumor removed from his lung.

Kevin Montgomery, Kaleb’s father, said, “Don’t know what to expect. Faith in God and him on our side is one of the biggest medicines there are.”

There is going to be a fundraiser on Saturday to help pay for Kaleb’s mounting medical bills.

The fundraiser will be held at the First Church of God in Miamisburg. There will be a bake sale, craft and games from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a spaghetti dinner from 4-7 p.m., which will cost $5.

The family said donations can also be made at The First Church of God, P.O. Box 163, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342
