‘Granny Robber' Pleads Guilty To Bank Robbery

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio —

A 68-year-old who is a suspect in several area bank robberies pleaded guilty Tuesday to robbing a Middletown bank.

The accused “granny robber,” 68-year-old Barbara Joly pleaded guilty to a robbery charge.

She is accused of robbing the Community National Bank in March by passing a teller a note. Joly will be sentenced in February and faces up to five years in prison.

Prosecutors said Joly has already paid the bank $1,000 in restitution.

She also faces an aggravate robbery charge in Warren County, where she is accused of robbing a Huntington bank in Franklin.

Joly is also a suspect in robberies in Mason and Lebanon.
